Eva Green pleased she ditched ‘bland’ blonde hair

Eva Green found her naturally blonde hair to be too “bland” for her personality.
The French actress is recognizable thanks to her porcelain skin and raven tresses, though she actually used to rock much lighter hair.
“My dark blonde was actually quite bland,” she told Vogue.co.uk. “A friend of my mum had very dark hair. She was from Yugoslavia and I wanted to look like her.”
Her dark locks certainly fit her latest role in Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, in which she plays the mysterious title character who can transform into a Peregrine falcon. Costume designer Colleen Atwood previously revealed she channeled the bird into the costumes worn by Eva, who is a big fan of Gothic style herself.
But she couldn’t secure the right gown when promoting the film, instead appearing on the red carpet in a scarlet Elie Saab dress.
“I would have loved to wear an original Alexander McQueen dress because he loved birds,” she gushed of her desire to wear a feathered ensemble. “But it’s all in museums.”
Eva isn’t one to try pieces on, instead choosing looks last minute for showbiz events. Last month (Sep16) she spoke about what fashion means to her, and how it acts as a self-defense in the spotlight.
“I’d say more baroque,” she told The Edit of her signature look. “I like to have my armour when I go on a red carpet – I feel very vulnerable otherwise… I like a smoky eye or a red lip – I just want to be in a costume that will protect me.”
